Science Fiction collectibles?

Shadow Trooper posted this in the Star Wars section. With merchandise being such a large part of fandom these days and Sci-Fi in particular being popular for collectors, i just wondered whether there were any other collectors on the forums? A specific licence? A specifice author? Let us know. If you can, attach photos of your collection or library.

I collect Star Wars stuff and Sci Fi books.

Hi Kasabian (welcome to the Chrons)

If you mean what can you post, I certainly don't mind; anything 'collectable' I guess. I don't care what the subject is (could be the Simpsons, LOTR, Star Trek etc etc). I intended it to cover all collectables that the members here had an interest in.

I just wish I'd posted the thread in the Lounge or somewhere better suited.

If you mean what collectables we have, I have posted several pics of my collection (as well as some of me and son! LOL). Rodders still has to post his collection!

i've had the odd sci-fi collectible in my time, most got junked though after i had to move.

Although i still have the autographs of Chase Masterson (Lita, ds9), and Kate Mulgrew (Janeway, voy.) from my trekkin days. lol

I even danced with Chase Masterson once at a trek convention. soooooo hot.

The one and only sff collectible I have ever wanted really badly is the Highlander sword. And I don't mean a replica, I mean the actual 5th century Japanese sword.

OK well and a real live working death star.

In any case, the only real collections I have are in D&D and AD&D...but those haven't been updated in a long time because I'm poor, and collecting is something you do when you aren't trying to you know, feed and clothe your demon brood. I used to have several hundred comics (All London Nights or Marvel) but those all got sold away.

When I can afford to collect things, I will probably go by story. I know that sounds silly and strange, but I'm into the stories of things. Like car collectors are.

Speaking of car collecting, my man has a few thousand hot wheels in storage. Some are worth a lot, some aren't worth anything. some are the same but different (like paint schemes, mistakes, wheels, ect). I'd like to sell the whole damn lot, but pfft on what I think. Why do men collect toys that they never play with? I play with all my stuff.

DG = Empress of the Sith, Commander of the Deathstar and pretty much ruler of the galaxy. I see a seventh StarWars film in the making. Wow you'd have your own line of collectables (Empress DG with glowing eyes and Force chop! LOL)
