He was the founder/creator/editor of Locus rather than a writer. It won something like 30 Hugo awards for fanzine/semiprozine. Its web version is at locusmag.com.

That is sad news indeed,met him a convention once and he gave me a copy of Locus I had missed pleasant guy though he did not always look it.
