An event is scheduled on April 18th to celebrate the launch of Book Aid Innternational's Author Association. The event will include author's such as Philip Pullman, Alexander McCall Smith and Ruth Rendell.

Ha! Yeah, these days people seem to be overly paranoid - not that there aren't loads of really scary people out there who do crazy things but I'd rather not spend my life worrying about that kind of thing.

Wish I was in the UK to participate. They have events here in the US as well but I've not seen one supported by major authors or close to my area. Probably because there don't seem to be tons of booklovers around here. One pitiful second-hand bookstore and the other 'chains' are all far away. Plus the books I release are never re-released - I suspect that they either get thrown away or in one case I know that they sold it to the second-hand store!
