***Spoilers for AFFC***

Tonight My wife finally read The chapter where Arya kills the singer that left Samwell (can't remember his name right now...darian maybe?)
Anyway, I was never happy with Arya just killing so coldly she is my favorite main character.

Well I feel like a fool now. My wife said she rejoiced when Arya killed the singer. Of course I was like "really?...why?"

She would've made Eddard proud killing the deserter.

AM I the only one who missed that. I mean. Its clear as day now.

So I posted that here because pickings are slim these days.

also.

unrelated.

Am I the only one who hopes Sansa dies a horrible death?

Okay .. run with it.

I thin k the similarity between father and daughter was fairly obvious, but not so much so that it was an absolute no brainer. Close though :)

As for Sansa, I'm really starting to like her. She's developing into a politically astute young lady who will soon be beating the boys off with a mace (assuming she doesn't skip that phase under Littlefingers tutelage. SHe used to be my least favorite POV, now I look forward to her chapters.

Yes.

Seriously, we've all missed connections that seem monumentally obvious in retrospect. For instance, I did not make the connection of the stag antler in the direwolf's throat to Houses Baratheon and Stark at first, but upon rereading AGOT it was instantly clear to me.

Potenially HUGE SPOILER...
If I'd never gotten online and read theories and observations, then I'd probably still think that Eddard... is Jon's father!

Am I the only one who hopes Sansa dies a horrible death?
No. But remember that Sansa's mother also died a horrible death... and she's still around! I did not think it was possible to despise Catelyn more than I did, but I was wrong... so be careful of what you wish for regarding Sansa.

Ditto. However, I'd still wouldn't mind seeing her go.

I really don't like Sansa all that much. It's not a Bran-like hatred by any means. I don't groan out loud when I get to her chapters. But I don't see her ever having a chance of entering my favorite characters list. I just won't get over her betraying both Arya and Eddard no matter how cool she turns out to be after she gets all of this training from Littlefinger. The point is, she should have been cool to begin with like the rest of the Starks. Hell, even Bran had some awesome potential until he became a crippled whiner.

As to the original question: Yeah, I picked up on that right away. Not that I'm some cool totally observant dude. I missed a lot of "obvious" stuff until I started reading forums like these. That was just one of the [few] things I didn't need help with.

Isn't there some prophecy about the dragon being awakened form the walls of Dragonstone? I am probably screwing that up.

And, could that refer to Dany, who was born there?

Is that old news?

Thanks TK!!

I am the only one that didn't see this! I shall review the prophecies.

I really do hate Sansa. As many people will agree, she killed her father. Not directly as say Tyrion but she is definitely at fault. (okay okay and Ned himself to. WHY EDDARD?)
I couldn't help but feel like it was retaliation for Eddard killing her wolf.
I feel like without her Wolf. GRRM is pretty much excluding her from the Starks. I've read somewhere on here "when Sansa's inner wolf .... "
I don't think she has an inner wolf. Thats why shes a snivelling whinny traitorous pretender, unworthy of Mighty Sandor. SanSan indeed! *scoff*

Yeah I'm with Barristan regarding Sansa. There isn't enough Stark in her for sure. She doesn't have as big an association with the North as the rest of her siblings do and she lost all contact when Lady was killed. It was her fault that Lady died too. She sold out her own sister for her 'love' for Joffrey and then she did it again with her father. She didn't even learn the first time that the Lannisters lie and are collectively worth the contents of her chamberpot. I struggle to find the Stark in Sansa.

I'm just very curious about how GRRM is going to resolve Sansa. It seems like such a looong story arc, so that death better be dramatic. He does switcheroos and messes with us once we get too comfortable with a character. So now what?

Sansa did completely screw up. Can he make a story for her to learn about true knights? Will she learn to go beyond the superficial? Or will abuse and loss of identity take its toll. Anyway, I think she is in an interesting position to go in many directions. Still, she lost her wolf, and it was bad kharma.

Yeah, if karma is spelled C-e-r-s-e-i, then Lady had bad karma.

To make me feel less foolish how about we all share something obvious that we missed, Like Boaz did in the 3rd post. Though, really its just something new to read on here, I don't feel that foolish.

But by all means continue bashing paris hilton .. oops I mean Sansa as well.

I'll start by saying that I missed Jorah being the traitor the first read through.
Until of course My Boy Barristan called him out. It made that part better in the end I think. 1 more little surprize. That is until I reread aGoT. Then I was like wow, did I really just forget that?
I was getting to know the characters (all 5000 of them) and for some reason forgot about Eddard telling about his exile and the whole Spy on Dani thing.

Now don't leave me hanging out here alone. Share. It will be a turn from the whole "here's my grand theory about ______" debates on here.

Barristan, don't worry, we all miss things. I didn't make the link between Varys and Iliryo, or what's his name, when Arya heard them talking beneath Maegor's Keep. I had to read in here about that.
