Corn!
Hello all,
Just to let people know: the Brotherhood without Banners, the unofficial fan group for GRRM fans, will be holding its usual WorldCon party at Interaction this August. As usual, we expect it to be one of the best and best-attended parties, but for that to happen, we need people to come along!
The party will this year have a 'Night's Watch' theme - those of you who have read A Song of Ice and Fire will know what we're talking about, the rest can come along and find out. We hope to be serving home-brewed mead amongst other drinks, and to have a centrepiece model of Castle Black.
George and his partner Parris will be attending, as will several of our more prominent members - especially Elio Garcia and Linda Antonsson, who run Westeros.org and were consultants on the Hedge Knight graphic novel.
You can find out more about the party through this link. You can also find out how you can contribute, if you would like to - either by helping out, or by a small donation through PayPal (we have no cover charge at the party itself, so fans contribute what they can. We've raised $790 already). We are also selling 'Night's Watch' t-shirts at the party to help covercosts - the design can be seen through the link above.
I should also mention in passing that there will likely be other events for GRRM fans - a lunch with George, and a trivia quiz, perhaps more. More details will follow, especially when we (finally) get the BwB site up and running!
