Hello all. As you know, i've started watching this from start to finish and i have a few questions. I don't really expect any answers, but i wonder whether anyone else has any questions too.

1. What happened to the Children of the Egg?
2. Are the Soul Hunters first ones too? Are they older than the Minbari?
3. Kosh said that both the Centauri and the Narn were a dying race. Did one have anything to do with the extinction of the other?
4. The first ones only sent one of each ship. Is that all that's left of them? The Shadows and the Vorlon had thousands of ships each to take beyond the Rim.

Hi Rodders,
I don't pretend to know all the answers to your questions but here is what I thought.

***SPOILERS AHEAD***

1) Don't know who these are - elaborate please
2) I thought the Soul Hunters were just another alien race, albeit an old one and obsessed about collecting valuable souls of other (and presumably their own) race as part of their religious beliefs
3) My understanding was that Kosh felt that both Narn and Centauri were dying as they were locked in a cycle of death between the two races, which would eventually consume them both - as foreshadowed by G'Kar & Londo's fate (killing each other). However, I thought that by siding with the Mimbari & Humans in the War of Shadows and by forming part of the Interstellar Alliance after that war, the Narn were on their way to avoiding that end but the Centauri, still consumed by thoughts of their glorious past in the empire etc, were still a decaying an dying race. And that's before the destruction of their homeworld by Narn forces and the infiltration of their leaders by the Drak
4) Probably - the rest of their people were most likely in the void between galaxies. The vorlons and shadows were tasked with remaining behind to shepherd the younger races, the other First Ones were not. I suppose they must have been dissidents really - perhaps Lorien felt that a handy side-effect of the War of Shadows was to get them to leave the galaxy as well.

Bit of research suggests the children of the egg are a race of aliens.:D

Specifically the race that the parent of a kid Dr Franklin is treating refuses permission for Dr Franklin to perform surgery. The doc then does the surgery anyway, and the parents kill the child. If it is that race (they where born of the egg/children of the egg), I think it was just an alien race of the week.

Everything else, I pretty much agree with Winters_Sorrow.

No one else have any questions? For such a large story i'd have thought that there would've been many. Please post some if you have them.

I have another one too. How come the Vorlons managed to evolve into a more energy based life form with great telepathic powers and the Shadows, even though they were supposed to be older than the Vorlons, were still very much corporeal and showed no telepathic abilities?

I see where you're coming from Winters_Sorrow (nice name by the way), but i never felt that Londo and G'Kar killed each other out of hatred. More like duty. Don't forget Londo instructed G'Kar to kill him, but his Keeper awoke and retaliated thereby killing each other. I always felt that there was a mutual respect that they held for each other. Perhaps even an uneasy friendship that formed. If there two adversaries can come together, then surely there must be hope for the Narns and the Centauri.

As for the first ones. Including the Shadows and the Vorlons, there were 8 races. Weren't there supposed to be two dozen younger races. I wonder how many of the made it?

No real questions, but I would have liked the following to be greater explored:

The Great Machine storyline.

The Great War (or the previous war where B4 went back) <---Spoiler if you haven't viewed the series yet!

The Drach and David storyline (D'elen and Sheridan's son)

In fact I think that it would be interesting to make a B4 series (as opposed to B5), with the focus on the disapearance and where it ended up! (trying not to Spoiler it!) :D

That's a really good idea Shadow Trooper. I'd also like to know more about that particular piece of B5 lor.

I'm interested in the Dilgar war too. I really thought that Sarah Douglas was incredible as the Ruthless and Bloodthirsty Deathwalker. Her legacy. Brilliant.

To be honest, i'd be quite happy if they were to release these stories as some sort of stand alone novel. There are plenty of spin offs these days, why not B5?

There was an unknown race that attacked B5 in the first few episodes of the fifth series. They looked to be quite technologically advanced, possibly even in possession of Bio-technology. Who were they?

I'm think they were associated with the shadows. Aliens left behind to continue the shadow's work.
And....
Rodders,
I'm pretty sure the shadows had telpathic abilities too. Delenn could sense them and they seemed to communicate with Morden(and others) telepathically
I loved this show and would love to see novels, graphic novels or another television show(I know, keep dreaming).

I've kinda watched the show from time to time, and thought I might add to the Centauri/Narn being dying races, speculation only. The Centauri had the narn as a slave race for a long time, the Narn had broken free, and were still fighting, they were working to fight themselves into extinction, since they couldn't get past their rallying cries. "fight for our freedom from our enslavers" and "fight to get back our properties" Londo and G'Kar ended up being at least civil to each other. but it became apparent that relationship was rare in their species. Vir's actions by Centauri standards was absolutely insane.
