Anyone looking forward to this? Anyone read the prequel, Oryx and Crake?

In terms of its timeframe (as opposed to its time of publication), The Year of the Flood is not strictly speaking a sequel (or a prequel) to Oryx and Crake; it happens at the same time as Oryx and Crake.

Attwood herself came up with a neologism for it - some combination of sequel and simultaneous, which I can't recall at the moment (inappropriately enough) - but also said it's like one of those old books where a chapter began with "Meanwhile...".

That's really quite interesting. I think I will like the whole "meanwhile" angle even more than a prequel/sequel type novel.

I've got Oryx and Crake but I'm yet to fully read it.
Her other books are very good however.
