Hi guys,

There is an online magazine that say they are particularly interested in author interviews, when it comes to the non-fiction stuff. So I have interviewed an author...

I also have to send a query first.

I was just wondering if there are as many conventions with query letters as there are with everything else in the business, and I imagine there are. Is there anything I should be aware of? Any websites you can direct me to that list any conventions, like this one does for manuscript format?

Do they have any submission guidelines? Any email addresses, etc?

Perhaps your best bet would be to drop them an informal, but polite, line and let them know what you're offering and ask if they'd be interested.

Well, maybe not informal, but that's how I would approach them in the first instance.

Maybe it would help if you told us which website it was, in case someone else reading the forums has had previous dealings with them.

You would query and submit this the same way you would any magazine article. I don't quite remember what that is, since it's been a while since I was reading everything I could on the subject of submissions, but I am sure you will find standard nonfiction guidelines somewhere on the net, if you do some Googling. You could also pick up a general book on writing. You might even find an article in a Writers magazine about how to query and submit to a magazine.
