Anyone else read this? I really enjoyed this book! It's setting is certainly something I've never read before.
Bertie - or Beatrice Shakespeare Smith - has grown up in the Theatre Illuminati where literary characters are alive and the stage sets change by themselves. Her companions are four rather rude fairies from 'Midsummer Night's Dream' that get her into trouble a lot - not that she needs help! When she's threatened to be thrown out after one prank too many she has to come up with an idea that will prove she is invaluable to the Theatre but somebody is out to thwart her efforts.
If you know a little about Shakespeare you will get all the humour but the book is wriiten in such a way that it's really not necessary. It was very entertaining and I can't wait for the second! :D
