Bloodsport - Gene Wolfe
The Singing Spear - James Enge
A Wizard of Wiscezan - C.J. Cherryh
A Rich Full Week - K. J. Parker
A Suitable Present for a Sorcerous Puppet - Garth Nix
Red Pearls: An Elric Story - Michael Moorcock
The Deification of Dal Bamore - Tim Lebbon
Dark Times at the Midnight Market - Robert Silverberg
The Undefiled - Greg Keyes
Hew the Tint Master - Michael Shea
In the Stacks - Scott Lynch
Two Lions, A Witch, and the War-Robe - Tanith Lee
The Sea Troll's Daughter - Caitlin R Kiernan
Thieves of Daring - Bill Willingham
The Fool Jobs - Joe Abercrombie

How did anyone miss this thread ?

Thats a huge S&S writers list. A good way to try new writers and then read older big guns like Cherryh,Moorcock,Tanith Lee.

I havent read Abercrombie just yet but i look forward to this anthology. I was looking hard for a new S&S anthology.

I'll keep an eye out for this one, that's a pretty high quality field.

Thanks for posting.

I like the mix of old and new authors (although I wish Poul Anderson and Fritz Leiber had still been around to contribute something) but I'm rather wary of contemporary fantasy anthologies - Legends didn't really do it for me. Having said that, the older writers here come from an era when fantasy writers honed their art in shorter formats.

There is a S&S anthology that is pretty rated i read about it in Cimmerian REH fan site. The Return of the Sword the first is called. Mostly with lesser known, newer writers.

That i will get before this june anthology. Maybe there is a hidden gem among the newer writers.
