I seem to be selling more short fiction this year. I know that the markets for it are not as widespread as they have been in the past, but I suspect that the economy is affecting it in some fashion.

Today, I just learned that yet another older story that I have been marketing for ages has sold. "Willow Walks" was originally written to go into one of the Sword and Sorceress anthologies, but Marion passed away after I submitted it (with another story), and the replacement editor chose to use what she had to fill the last three contracted volumes, and accepted "The Curse of Ardal Glen" for number 19, but rejected "Willow Walks."

I marketed it for some time afterwards, rewriting it a little, offering it several places, always getting the rejections stating it was clearly too "narrow" a focus.

Well, of course, it was written for the S&S series...duh...

But at any rate, it has been accepted and will appear in a magazine slated for next year.

Meanwhile, I also sold a long time contender, "Standing Stones" to a digital magazine for next year. This is another story that has been making the rounds for over 10 years.

And because I feel like celebrating finding homes for these "ancient" children of mine, I have put up a new story on my website. The link for the story is:

THE LAST JEST

This is yet another child that has been long time searching for a home, and it is lengthy, so I just decided I would set it out for viewing.

Hopefully, if you enjoy it, you might consider making a small contribution to my Paypal account.

If not, I will understand. As I said, it is the economy, and it sucks.

But I am still selling stories, so I cannot complain. ;)
