hi,

i've been working on a graphic novel for some years now, dealing with neuroscience in the near future. A very promising subject but hard to uncover nevertheless. That's why i think i

this thing doesn't leave you much time!

so i was saying... i think i need to team up with co-authors that actually have the time or the knowledge to inform and co-write. Basically I need to get going with this thing and i can't actually do it by myself... i need to face the fact that i'm not perfect after all ;)

if someone's interested or if you know where i could find my crew, it would be much appreciated. I could send a small excerpt if i know you're keen.

Gracias compadres

The software here gives you all the time you want to post something, but a limited time to edit, so it is highly desirable to know exactly what you want to say before you hit "Submit."

I am afraid you might have some difficulty finding collaborators here. Most writers -- and certain the vast majority on these forums -- prefer to work on their own ideas (of which they have many) rather than on somebody else's.

But you don't have to be perfect to finish your project on your own. You just have to be dedicated enough to stick with it. If, after a lot of thought, you decide that you don't have that kind of commitment to what you already have, it's unlikely you'll be able to convince other people that they should. If you don't love it enough to stay with it, then maybe it isn't that good. Even if it is that good, if you've run out of enthusiasm, it will be hard to ignite enthusiasm in others.

Why not give it a while longer?

it's not a question of ambition, although come to think of it, maybe it didn't come over that well when i posted it.

To be honest, this project is the only thing that i feel absolutely confident about (my girlfriend and family aside). I'm no perfectionist in any other way, but i am when it comes down to my graphic projects. You know when you feel absolutely sure about something and you want it to succeed no matter what...
Very sadly though, due to given circumstances, i don't have enough time to pursue it with the speed i wish... that's why i realize i could use some help.

I realize not a lot of people are keen to spend time on something that's not theirs but that's ok, maybe there are some people out there that also feel that working together on a project may prove more successful than working alone. If not, no worries, I will continue on my own, but it will just take longer.

and that means depriving the world of a treasure it ought to see already... :)

The determined turtle beats the speedy hare in every fable I've ever heard.

Well except for the one where the turtle gets eaten up by alligators.

I think its great that you have so much faith in your work, but you need to discipline yourself into turning that faith into time and energy to complete, edit, reedit, submit and promote your work.

Most of us have tons of our own projects that we have absolute faith in and are going to be rich and famous from, and we take time out of our day to work hard on them even when we don't have the time to work on them.

There may be some people interested in such a partnership, but this isn't really the place.

I wish you even more luck finding someone who can draw the pretty pictures...
