Hello. I'm new here so please be patient: I have been trying to remember for years the name of a book that I read in the 80s (but, it might have been published in the 70s). It's about a research project in which scientists in a submerged vessel are investigating a sea floor that actually turns out to hide underwater cities underneath--i..e, a whole other seaworld inhabited by humanoid beings that breathe underwater (think, like the 70's "Man from Atlantis" tv series). These underwater humanoids have gigantic eels as protectors... protectors against gigantic jelly fish who scavange the humanoid inhabitants for food. These gigantic jelly fish can cover the humanoid inhabitants' domed cities, crack them open and suck out the people in a horrendous fashion (very descriptive in the book, I remember!). Any of these descriptions sound familiar? Sounds a little crazy but it really gripped me when I read it and haven't forgotten it. The cover, btw (at least what was sold here in the U.S.) was an aqua green underwater scene with, I think, a green woman swimming with an eel, and in the background, a domed city could be seen brightly lit, with jellyfish floating around it. Thanks for all who could help! -Marianna
