I am in search of a good fantasy book!
I saw a thread below but here is where I write my wants and do not wants:

i already read the chronicles of narnia, harry potter and the seeker series (i forget what its called). Artemis fowl... and more

And I am looking for a good book. One similar to the books mentioned above...

except Eragon... I did not like Eragon..... nor The lord of the rings (I liked the movies) I do not like traveling books. I spent 200 pages in lord of the rings going up the same mountain...not my speed....
No traveling books!! unless the travel is short and not the name of a chapter.

Thanks!

How about the Bartimaus Trilogy by Jonathan Stroud, or Sabriel by Garth Nix.

and the seeker series (i forget what its called).

You mean The Dark is Rising sequence by Susan Cooper? (You should never call it anything to do with "Seeker" since that's the name of that film abomination.)

No travelling, huh? I guess there's always Gormenghast. No one ever leaves the castle.

hhmmm? what is this bartamaus book you speak of?

whats it about?
is it written well? I am writing a fantasy book. This is why Im am looking for well written books. With good sentences and good descriptions, whenever its describing something...

whatever that book is they didnt have it at my library. The one copy was out...

...and then librarian asked me what grade im in.

I told him I was in college. Apparently I'm too old for Fantasy books, judging from his stern look.

But after looking around I found these:
Rangers apprentice
Assassins apprentice

these books any good?

If Assassin's Apprentice is the one by Hobb, it's not really YA, but I'd still highly recommend it. Is there a reason you want to stick to YA? While there's plenty of great (and well written) works there, there are many and more in the adult realm...

What I have isnt Robin Hobbs, its Oathbreaker.. by SR vaught...

but I will get Hobb's book next perhaps...

You know, I have found some books considered Young Adult that I dont think belong there...

What was Harry Potter considered? Young Adult also?
I wouldn't know.... I just read...

I liked Stardust... Actually...I thought the movie was better than the book...but thats the first time that that happened! I like the ending in the movie better...there was more action.
