Hi there!
This is my first post here, prompted mainly by desperation, and I was hoping I might find assistance.
In the mid-1980's I was equally enthralled and terrified by an art book in my school's library. The work was very much in the style of John Harris/Chris Foss, but was vastly bleaker.
If my memory serves the scenes were often quite bright environments, overgrown ruins, bright deserts etc, which were off set against wrecked machinery (landers, rovers, ships etc) and the skeletons of marooned explorers in space suits half buried in sand, undergrowth. Lots of broken faceplates, wind etched bone.
The images have stuck in my mind for years but the internet has failed me thus far in trying to track down who created these images and the publication they were in, so if anyone has any ideas who this might have been i would greatly appreciate the information!
Thanks
Cernan
