I wasn't sure whether to put this in Science or History, but since Science determined the cause of death, here it is. According to the article...

Egypt's most famous pharaoh, King Tutankhamun, was a frail boy who suffered from a cleft palate and club foot. He died of complications from a broken leg exacerbated by malaria and his parents were most likely brother and sister.

I thought it was a very sad article! The great Tutankhamun suffering for most of his 19 years, in one way or another, before his death.

Science is very clever of course and very I find it extremely interesting but somehow, for me anyway, this takes the shine off his short span as the great King Tut.

Thank you for showing it to us though Lady of Winterfell. Very enlightening.

It really makes you wonder what the mood of the people was that they build such an impressive tomb; did they feel sorry for him and want to let him rest in extreme comfort, or were they trying to bury his deficiencies in the hope that the rest of the population would be spared?

The tomb isn't that elaborate, they just chucked in whatever happened to be lying around because they weren't prepared for his early death.

The grave goods look spectacular because his tomb was the only one that hadn't been robbed.
