I just got done watching this movie and thought I'd share info about it for those who haven't seen it. I hope it's OK to post this. It's semi off topic at best.

Heath Ledger stars in it. Although the plot was fairly predictable, and the soundtrack "interesting" in a way that wasn't appealing to me, the story as a whole was somewhat reminiscent of The Hedge Kinight. It's "on demand" on HBO right now if you happen to subscribe, or you can get it from places such as Netflix (I checked) . Not a great movie, but fairly enjoyable.

I have always liked this movie. It's good with popcorn. It doesn't really remind me of ASOIAF at all though.

I don't know, the young commoner aspiring to be a knight and ride in the lists, and ultimately seeing his fate entangled with royalty... no, not very similar to The Hedge Knight at all.

Great. Now I have a mental image of Dunk & Egg coordinating a "We Will Rock You" montage with the crowd before the Trial of the Seven... ruined it for me! :)

It's funny you posted this as i just watched it for the first time last week. I was browsing through the description and saw squire, and the first thing i thought of is ASOIAF. However, after watching it, i was amazed how close it was to the Hedge Knight as well.

I was dying laughing when the one squire in the beginning was beating the ish out of the knight who recently died. lol
