Japan issued ultimatum over whaling

I hope that the Australian Government has the gumption to stand up and stick to it's promises on this one:

I have to admit that I haven't looked deeply at this issue - mainly because I find it so upsetting, but I don't understand why the loophole has been allowed to remain open for 24 years when everyone knows it's been abused to the highest order . . . .

I'm sure others here can enlighten me!

I agree, if you watched Whale Wars on Discovery which was about the Steve Irwin, a anti whaling boat. You'll know how bad the Whales are getting treat.

It's barbaric.

Apparently a whale is worth 1 million dollars so now we know the reason why!!!

Me Grandad was in a Japenese POW camp so I'm not surprised but you'd think they would have learnt something by now.

Whales are an endangered species, which is why they must be protected.

But no fish caught by a fisherman has a nice, easy end Gary. Dangling on the end of a sharp hook as you are plucked out of your habitat into an environment where you suffocate to death or get your head chopped off is just not cool no matter the size of the fish!
