(Probably Found) Need help finding a book

Hi, I'm trying to find an old book, possibly from the 60's. As I recall, these are the main points:

the main human character falls into a carnivorous plant while exploring a jungle

while inside the plant he meets a jelly-like alien which enters his body

the alien can give its host almost immortal lifespan and protect the host from injury, as well as heal injuries

the human alien symbionts pair travels around the universe looking for the aliens mate

the mate is found and ends up a symbiont with a beautiful human female

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

If you replace carnivorous plant with cave, then this matches up nearly identically with F. Paul Wilson’s Healer (1976/1972 -“Pard”)

Man exploring area goes into cave, jelly like symbiote bonds with him, he becomes immortal and can heal injuries, travels the universe…

I bought this in the summer of 1977 and while I don’t remember buying it I do remember reading it next to Columbia Lake at the University of Waterloo. I think the lake had been closed to swimmers 1 by then but maybe we dropped by to hang out next to it on the bank. What impressed me at the...
