Just picked up Sun of Suns (had Pirate Sun on my shelf from library sale). Anybody read his stuff? Particularly the Virga trilogy? Opinions/comments welcome....

It's an interesting universe. I've read Sun of Suns and enjoyed it. I've also reads bits of the later books in Analog.

I haven't read the Virga series (now more than a trilogy) but I've read Ventus, Lockstep, and his collection, The Engine of Recall and I have a couple or so of the Virga books in the SBR. For a moment in Ventus I had that fantastic "world falls away and I'm in the book" feeling. It eventually faded but I still liked the book, as I did both the others, too. He's wildly imaginative and that's part of why I'm posting - I came across this great interview of him which really conveys the joy of exuberant ideas:

Interview: Karl Schroeder @ Lightspeed

Once the books arrive in the mail, Schroeder is the next on my list to read since I was intrigued once I looked him up due to the suggestion of J-Sun.
