You found some good ones there - Banks, Delany and Vance especially. I don't have much time for Smith's novels except as historical sf works but, to be fair, Triplanetary was a later prequel, all of which was new except the final section.

I wonder how you would feel about Vance if you went into a book of his without expecting a certain style of SF. Just analyse his actual style,see if its for you.

If you liked second half of Emphyrio try Demon Princes series first book. More SF elements but still Vintage Vance.

My experience with one of your authors is mixed, the rest I enjoyed. Delany wrote a few books I like but also wrote the longest terrible book I ever finished. Haveing read some of his other books I kept expecting it to get better until I finally got through it and it never did. The books name was Dhalgren, 800 plus pages of drek.
