I'm surprised I have seen no mention of this book here yet so I thought I'd come ask if anyone else has read it.
It is a graphic novel series written by Joe Hill (Heart Shaped Box) and centres around a family who's father is murdered at the beginning of the book.
The family, move in with their uncle in the old family residence, a mysterious house called Keyhouse which is filled with strange doors that can do all kinds of things( although only one of the doors is explored in the first book.)
Their father's killer however, fuelled by an ominous voice from his prison toilet breaks out of the detention centre and heads to Lovecraft, MA. to finish what he'd started.
I discovered the first book, 'Welcome to Lovecraft' a while ago, but only picked it up a few days ago and I have to say it's a great read. I've not read any of Mr Hill's other works yet but he seems to fit right in at home in the comic book format. The dialogue is great and the characters are well written and believable for the most part.
The art in the book is amazing and it pays to give each panel only your full attention so as to leech every last detail from the images.
I've only read the first book so far but I've got the second, Head Games, which I'm about to delve into.his
So, has anyone else read this series yet? What were your impressions?
