I was hit by a sudden bolt of inspiration by the First Lines thread. I was seeing so many great openers and coming up with a few myself, I decided this was a great way to brainstorm.
I write down nearly every "good idea" that comes to me, usually a brief story idea description or even a random sentence that comes to me. Now, I have a file just for story openings. I just brainstorm for a while and write down any interesting opening lines that come to me whether I intend to ever use them or not.
