has anyone read this? i loved it, thought it was beautiful..would love any insight anyone has? x

Rob was a great writer and a truly lovely person. His death last November shocked many of us in the British SF community and he's sorely missed.

For whatever it's worth, I know several people who consider the second Mythago book, Lavondyss, to be his best, surpassing even Mythago Wood itself.

Two books that every genre fan should read.

Absolutely Mythago Wood is a true classic of the Genre. I've got the first 3 books but have not yet read beyond Mythago.

Yep,its an epic book, and I dont even like fantasy in general!

I think it exists in the blurred area between fantasy and science-fiction, especially if you think of the wood as a space-time anomaly that responds in a particular way to human consciousness, rather than as a kind of magic kingdom.

Slightly OT but still Holdstock, has anyone else read his "Ancient Echoes"?
