Hello everyone... I was hoping for some insight into how to go about writing to Gene? I have never written to any authors before but really feel like dropping him a few lines of humble and heartfelt praise. Can anyone help me out with an adress to write to?

Thanks

If you look at the last page of the New Sun Thread, Aaron Singleton mentions that he has written Gene and received a reply. Perhaps send him a PM in the event that he does not visit here often.

Donald,
If you scroll to the bottom of the following webpage, on Andy Robertson's website:

http://home.clara.net/andywrobertson/wolfemountains.html

you'll find the suggestion of writing to Gene Wolfe via his agents, at:

Virginia Kidd Agency Inc.
Box 278
Milford
PA 18337
USA

My thanks to Andy Robertson for this helpful info.

The Agency's website is at www.vk-agency.com - but it doesn't tell you very much more than this, I'm afraid.

You may also want to take account of the fact that, according to Wikipedia's entry for Gene Wolfe, he recently underwent major heart surgery - so you may have to wait some time for a reply, I'm afraid.

However, I wish you luck in making contact with Mr Wolfe.

I don't know if this is still done or not, but many, many years ago, I wrote to a few writers via their publisher, making sure to include the letter in a second (stamped) envelope with my return address and only the author's name. At that period, at any rate, such mail was forwarded on, and I received both courteous and helpful replies in such instances... though, even then, and without the medical situation Gene Wolfe is in, it sometimes took a while to receive these....

I generally correspond with authors via the net or personal email. I've not tried to correspond with Mr. Wolfe. I'm hoping to meet him one day in my travels....

Having a handwritten reply from an admired author though would certainly add an extra something for sure.
