Apparently he is already 20,000 words into the next watch novel, provisionally titled 'Snuff' and is talking to Stepehen Baxter about collaborating on his unfinished SF novel 'The Long Earth'. The man is unstoppable!

The bad news - 'Nation' didn't win the Carnegie Award.

Thanks for the good news! He looks great on the photos. The man is a wizard.

Awesome! I was hearing rumours that this book wouldn't be written, but here we are. Tiffany Aching is by far the best part of Pratchett's post-Night Watch bibliography.

Excellent news - the man is awesome. Did you know a couple years back that despite the JKR's of this world TP has sold more books than any other living British author. May no longer be true but I suspect it probably is.

Yep, 'I Shall Wear Midnight' is due to be published on Thursday 2 September. Annoyingly, for those of us who are going to the Discworld Convention in Birmingham the previous weekend, the release date is firm, and we've been told that no copies will be available at the Con - boo! :(

Definitely the second? *squee*

I'm on the train home from Cornwall then - I can buy it and read it on the five hour trip home! :D

I'm afraid that's how all my first reads of Pratchett books pan out. I re-read them later, of course, but the first time is always a single-sitter; I'm not brilliant at managing my excitement at times like that.

I know where you are coming from. If I have a really good, gripping book and it can be fatal. Not usually too bad if there is say 400 pages to go. But if I go to bed and start reading with say 200 to go I frequently stay up until finished. And it certainly wouldn't be the first time for me to read straight through the night

If Pratchett's doing chapters again, as he has started doing lately, try reading one every night before going to bed. I did that with Nation, which was very satisfying.

Wow that's impressive T, I'm just not that disciplined. When I start reading before going to sleep I don't think I ever manage less that an hour of reading

I Shall Wear Midnight almost certainly will have chapters - all of the other Tiffany Aching books do.

Yes, 'I Shall Wear Midnight' does indeed have chapters.

And for anyone in the UK who has not bought it yet, if you get it at Waterstone's in the next few days, not only is it half price (like lots of other places) but you also get a limited edition print of the front cover image with it (attached to the inside rear cover of the book) - which I think is unique to Waterstone's.

Just saying ... :)

For eBook lovers Waterstones are not knocking nearly as much off the ebook price at £18.23, WH Smiths are a little better at £15.91 but Amazon take the prize at £6.29.
