Red-headed Seer Kids?

Looking for a series of fantasy books that were around in the early 80s.

Dredging up OLD memories here... I vaguely recall them being about red-headed kids with seeing abilities held captive or enslaved. One or more could communicate with wolves? The kids revolted/escaped...?

Any of this ringing a bell?

*phew* Found the answer from a friend on Facebook finally! It was The Children of Ynell series by Shirley Rousseau Murphy: The Ring of Fire, The Wolf Bell, The Castle of Hape, Caves of Fire and Ice, The Joining of the Stone.
