Are requests for critiques of self-made covers allowed?

I created the cover for my ebook and was wondering if forum rules allow its posting for critiques?

The only problem is that as a new member I suspect you will fall foul of the posting for critiques without first having contributed rule.

I suggest you read the sticky at the top of critiques area which explains that we expect new members to contribute to the site, not just use us for a quickie opinion, and then leave us, never to be seen again, like a phantom

Item 1.

As to the idea, I can't see a problem personally, I'd be prepared to give it a once-over as it were, but then I don't make the rules.

A request for input on cover art would be more appropriate in the Art forum, rather than in Critiques. Or are you talking about the cover copy, the blurbs, etc.? If that is what you mean, or part of what you mean, then it could go in the Critiques forum.

TEIN is right. We do ask people to contribute to the forums before asking for critiques. A book cover is somewhat different, since it would not require the same kind of detailed response as several hundred words of text, but we would still like to see some contribution.

Also, moving this thread to Aspiring Writers, because we like to keep the Critiques forum for the critiques themselves.
