Ok I am running things through my head. I got this idea...maybe, I havent read everything on this forum, Jon Snow is actually the prince who has been promised! Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Starks kid...

Follow my reasoning...tower of joy battle....Lysanna tell Ned to promise promise...??? Promise what!?? Ahh I had a kid with Rhaegar maybe...she dies in child birth?!!!
Neds caracter is to proud and too noble to be a douche bag cheater...Robert hate Rhaegar why? From may accounts he was beautiful an noble and a well read guy...after battle at the tower Ned take Jon...weird??? Jon looks like Arys Stark and Arys looks like Lyanna...Rhaegar loves Lyanna and I think she spurned Robert...Ned gets tossed into battle war...love for Robert an the mad king killing his father and brother...

Please discuss love to debate this sorry for spelling and sentence structure...

Hi there, Vonbek. I'm glad you enjoyed reading ASoIaF.

I think R+L=J was the one thing I (thought I'd) worked out for myself when reading the books, which is why I have this nagging doubt about it. It was too easy; determining GRRM's intentions usually requires conscious thought, a search for clues, not the simple emergence of an opinion.

Now R+L=J may well turn out to be true, and I'll pat myself on the back** for realising what was happening by myself. But any self-congratulations will have to wait until I see an unambiguous statement that Rhaegar is Jon's father (and Lyanna is his mother, for that matter).



** - Preventing injury to my shoulder also would seem to be good reason to hold back.

I have read enough fantasy books to know prophesy always come through.
I just want to know two major things what's on the isle of faces and if walder whole family gets vaporized... Lol
