I'm not sure if anyone else has mentioned this, I've had a quick search through the Chrons, but find a few references to the author, but none that pay tribute to her. It seems that her untimely passing has slipped under the radar.
Louise Cooper was a successful British Fantasy author of both adult and young adult Fantasy. I was first attracted to her work through the TIME MASTER trilogy, and it was the unusual covers that made me pick the books up off the shelf. They weren't huge novels, but were engaging and not typical fantasy fare, in some ways told from what could be considered the villains point of view, but that is something subjective to the reader. It's some time since I read them but I seem to recall that I was slightly disappointed with the ending feeling that the conclusion was slightly anti-climactic. She turned this around with her solo novel MIRAGE that followed giving the climax I thought she'd missed previously.
This series as followed by the epic 8 part series INDIGO, and then returned to the world of the TIME MASTER with two sequel trilogies, both excellent.
Throughout her career she wrote over 80 novels, and I only read these few but enjoyed them immensely.
While looking up something else, I chanced upon her website and was stunned to learn that she passed away in October last year aged 57.
It's safe to say that her books really entertained me, and it is a sad case of a talented author being gone far too soon.
