I was just thinking about the stuff I used to read back in junior high and high school (dragonlance, forgotten realms, etc). For nostalgia's sake, I picked up 'Dragons of Autumn Twilight' and read a bit. However, I found I had to stop because the writing style wasn't what I remembered and left a lot to be desired.
Because I do remember - even back then - reading other books within the Dragonlance series that I felt were better executed than the original Dragonlance Chronicles (Autumn Twilight, etc), I'm curious to know if anyone has found any 'hidden gems' within these fantasy-lite type books? I still have a few more Dragonlance books stashed away somewhere, and eventually I'll dig them out and re-read some of the ones I remember really enjoying.
I'd really appreciate any input anyone has. I do realize that there are plenty of other fantasy novels out there I could be reading, but I'd love the chance to read and still at least somewhat enjoy something I used to love!
