Okay, so I've heard loads of rumors about Sandor Clegane. Did he really die? I hope not, he's a close favourite of mine :D driven purely by hate and all. The Elder Brother hints to the reader that The Hound still lives.
Any views?

Nightstalker... I don't want to answer definitively because I still don't know... but I have a strong suspicion. You might want to reread Brienne's sixth POV of AFFC and then come back and discuss the Hound's mortality. When you come back, you'll probably find that TK-421 has linked a thread or two where you might find more correspondence on this topic.

Definitely discussed at length in the initial aFfC thread started after the release of the book. I'd find it and provide a link, but I'm kinda lazy.

Nightstalker... let me just lay out a few facts before you reread Brienne's sixth POV of AFFC.

Sandor is a very tall man... probably only Gregor, Hodor, and the Greatjon are taller.

When we last saw Sandor in ASOS (near the mouth of the Trident, close to Saltpans and the Quiet Isle), he was left to die from a severe leg wound.

Sandor's horse, Stranger, is a nasty piece of work.

Sandor's nickname is The Hound... and besides his warhorse, the only things in life he has an affinity for are dogs.

Because of the abuse that Gregor heaped upon him, Sandor loathes knights.

I am totally on camp Hound Still Alive. Also Gregor. The giant armour, and the fact that the head was sent back stripped, whereas all over heads seem to get tarred and stuff, seems to suggest that there's a Zombie Gregor around still.

yeah, at first I thought he would probably die, but when it mentioned Stranger I changed my mind because how else would they have gotten Stranger to the island if Sandor was there.
Plus someone else mentioned the lame brother digging graves though if it is Sandor I can't really believe he'd want to join the brothers. :L

If nothing else, I want them to both still be alive so they can finally have that epic fight against one another.

I would hope the Hound is still alive. That is one thing about Martin he also didnt make completely clear that his brother "The Mountain that rides" is alive or dead.

Also hope you dont mind me asking...is Davos dead? He was held captive (I forget exactly where) while an ambassador attempt and Cercei commanded his head and hands be cut off and later someone confirms that this has happened even with his hand that is missing fingers..
Thanks.

Sometimes rereading those old posts, I'll see a comment and think "That's moronic. What idiot posted that?"... and then I realize it was me. That's the worst part of the old threads.

What's TRULY insane, Boaz is that some threads were started 5 years ago about Feast of Crows and that's the most RECENT book!
