I didn't want to even put ADWD in the title for fear of getting someone excited for nothing.

I'm guessing most everyone that has wanted to read ADWD samples has had the opportunity to do so, but, if you missed any of them and can't wait for GRRM to refresh his samples page, I will be happy to send any or all of them to you. Just include separate shipping and handling for each one, umm, err, just kidding :D

Send me a PM with your email address and which you need and I'll send you a text file containg the chapter (s)

Agh - the temptation! Must...resist...sample...chapters...

Ah, screw it. Imp, no one may take you up on your generous offer (tomorrow). :)

Many thanks by the way.

Hmm, does that mean No One may or no one may? :D

Don't think of it as temptation, think of it as a small pre-release of ADWD

I feel like I read them all, but I havent checked in over a year I think. Can you list the sample chapters?

There have been Dany, Jon and Tyrion sample chapters posted at various times on GRRM's WEBSITE (not on Not A Blog), as well as the Reek sample that is on Amazon.com

thanks, Ive read all of those ones. for some reason i was optimistic that in the past 2 years he had posted a new one... lol

Martin has been frugal with releasing chapters for ADWD following criticism that no less than eight chapters from AFFC - about a sixth of the whole book - were released before it came out. As a result, he's only released four formally (and informally read another 3-4 at conventions, but those apparently have changed quite a lot).

Why was he criticized? Wouldn't releasing samples be seen as a good thing for people who were anxious to get the actual book?

Well, if it were about a sixth then that's ok. If he released more then everybody would know basically what was going on. I wouldn't want to be waiting for ages to read the book and finding that I'd already read most of it. It'd ruin the actual reading.

Imp, you're like a crack dealer. You're a baaaad man. Put those text files down and step away from the keyboard.

I'm worse than a crack dealer. At least they have the good sense to charge for their product, although this product isn't mine to sell.

I guess this will lead to a slippery slope where i finally end up selling used paperback copies of the 4 books at flea markets all across Masschusetts, assuming i could get there.
