I was wondering if there is another site I can get the video clips from because it appears the HBO site is so slow that I can not watch any of them without it pausing every few seconds, and I have a fast DSL connection...

I let the entire 15 minute preview download before listening to it and for some reason it still pauses, so I guess it did not download. My PC has no problem playing any other videos, just the ones from HBO about A Game of Thrones....

If my lionk above doesn't work, you might want to try uninstalling adobe flash player, then reinstalling the latest version. Note that you can't just install the latest version over an existing one. The old one must be gone.

If you're using a router you might want to try bypassing the router, and connecting directly from your cable modem to your computer, assuming you're not using a wireless connection on the machine you're trying to view on. This would be a temporary band-aid type soultion, and wouldn't address the underlying issue, but it might enable you to watch the trailer.

good luck

You tube.

There's a HBO channel on there. If I wasn't so lazy I'd get you the link.

Maybe it's just me but the throne looks a bit too gritty and rusty...never thought i'd say that about ASOIAF but yea :D

The new trailer was excellent. I have to say that I evisioned everything a lot grander and bigger than what they show in these trailers but that is not to say I am disappointed - really looking forward to this.

I think the iron throne is most ominous with Badfinge-- I mean Littlefinger sitting on it.

For me, it actually looked fancier and more stylized than I had imagined. My mental image of it was more like lots of randomly twisted swords of all shap[es and sizes melted together to form something that sort of looks like a throne. I think the one shown is very cool

Cul, thanks for keeping us moving forward on the trailers. I liked the quick clip of the Winterfell godswood. You da man, Cul.

HBO have hit us with a new trailer - which is excellent - and a new website called The Maester's Path.

The latter is a new interactive puzzle site where, each week from now to early April, a fresh puzzle will be unveiled. Rather like those old LOST alternate-reality games, solving the puzzles requires some strategic googling of other websites. In this case, HBO sent out presentation boxes packed with maps, scrolls and symbols to various critics and bloggers last week. These boxes contained intriguing symbols, which Westeros.org has handily coallated here (the comments from the appropriate entry on the Winter is Coming site contain the solution, but it's pretty easy).

The reward for the first puzzle is our first full scene from the TV series, and an iconic moment from the books :)

New featurettes about House Lannister and Baratheon.

The Lannister featurette gives us our first glimpse of Charles Darwin as Tywin Lannister, as well as our first good look at Jack Gleeson as Joffrey and Gethin Anthony as Renly. We also get to see a brief glimpse of a certain boar hunt scene and a single shot from a large battle sequence (with Bronn and Tyrion looking knackered).

So many videos your face will melt off.

My favourite one is Tyrion Lannister's. He utterly inhabits the role, nailing Tyrion's odd feeling of fellowship with Jon, his delight in needling Theon, his genuine love for Jaime, his hatred of Cersei and his need to prove his innocence to Catelyn and clear his name. But it's the final bit which is awesome: "Close the door!"

The Ned Stark one is also great, especially Aidan Gillen channelling Carcetti as Littlefinger: "The Crown is six million in debt!" I half-expected him to explain how he'd have to reduce the education budget in East Baltimore as a result :)

The Khal Drogo one is also amusing, if just for Jason Momoa's description of the character as "The top pimp." The Viserys one is also splendid, showing Harry Lloyd doing that crazy mental eye-work he first picked up on DOCTOR WHO in 'Human Nature'.
