Read a great novel years ago. I recall the main character as a judge who was harsh against women's rights for abortion. No matter what, he would not approve of an abortion.

In the meantime, several dead bodies of men had been found that were missing their internal organs.

Then the judge was kidnapped by a group of scientists who were trying to get a successful implantation of an embryo through the use of hormones, etc into a man. Turns out he was able to successfully sustain the pregnancy .. but he escapes and then is left to face the dilemma of a forced pregnancy. Does he choose the abortion?

Can't remember the title or author of this novel. Can you?

I read this book and (and so did my mother) we have been thinking about it for the past 6 years...ever since the idea that Roe v. Wade would be seriously challenged. I can't remember the title and after many google searches, your post is the only connection that I have found. I do remember that the book and its cover/writing style) had a Dean Koontz/Dan Brown vibe. I also remember that I read it after recently moving to a new state about about 20 years ago.

Hi...I am reusing someone else's thread title that was posted ten years ago. I read this book about 20 years ago and this person's prior post is the only accurate "hit" that I have gotten. The book's cover and writing style had a Dean Koontz/Dan Brown vibe The premise is that science has (secretly) progressed to the point where men can be impregnated. Men are being found dead missing many of their internal organs. At the same time, an unsympathetic judge when it comes to abortion rights, is kidnapped and....impregnated against his will. I can't even remember the ending. Obviously this book comes to mind because of recent events. I am so frustrated that I can't remember or find the title. Has anyone else read this book and remembers the title?

This is most likely Stanley Pottinger’s The Fourth Procedure (1995). Timeframe and plot fit - pregnant men, murders, missing organs, etc.

From a review: “…someone figures out a procedure to transplant a growing fetus (amniotic sac and all) from a pregnant woman into a man, and then uses the procedure to impregnate the swing vote on the US Supreme Court so that he will truly understand being forcibly pregnant and then he casts the deciding vote to protect abortion rights for women...”
