Forgot what the book series was called

All I remeber was one of them being called "New Spring" and "Eye of the World". It was an epic fantasy novel series if I remeber right but I forgot what it was called. Can anyone you help me out?

Sounds like Robert Jordan's The Wheel of Time series. New Spring was a prequel, and The Eye of the World was the first in the series.

Save yourself a lot of effort and stop now, I have never been less impressed by a series. Lan has a stony face and egwene spends a lot of time folding her arms under her breasts, boring and by the authors own admission padded to meet a series length contract.

I, on the other hand, would recommend it. Yes, there is a lot of exposition, but it is an incredibly intricate epic tale. It is important to keep in mind that there is no one main character - the focus shifts between a couple dozen characters, and it can be difficult to keep track. I believe it well worth the effort, however.

Haters gotta hate.

Since Jordan's death the series has been taken over by Brandon Sanderson (Elantris, and the Mistborn series) and he is doing a fantastic job. There is one more book coming out which will end the series. Robvil is correct that you may have to muddle through a couple of the books in the middle of the series which weren't too good, but then it picks up and I'm awaiting an awesome conclusion.
