Not A Blog - Ice & Fire Comes to Comics

Well what are our thoughts?

I actually do enjoy a good comic but but but...
I'm not sure Random House/ Bantam Books is the best option for that.
Also from what I can see from the concept art given on GRRM's blog...Well it looks like sort of cheap anime with no actual story line. Personally I think ASOIAF should get something better!

I would be super excited if the news would have been "Dark Horse will make ASOIAF comics!1!!"...right now i'm kinda "meh". :(

Actually (while I agree with your sentiment about Dark Horse whole-heartedly), I don't give a c**p about the flipping comic books. I already know what happens, because I've read the books twice.

To paraphrase the Imp's song, I want "A Dance with Dee".

Well yea i totally i agree with the whole George pissing the fanbase off with pseudo-updates but while we're at it we might as well talk about what we have :D

And well for example even if i knew the storyline the Conan comics for example had, i still enjoyed reading the version with pretty pictures :D

And personally I think a big story like ASOIAF (is pretty mainstream and has a fairly big fanbase, hence big) should have...A more classy/pretty comic. Although i'd probably also prefer if the comic series didn't come out while the book series itself isn't even finished yet...I think George is rushing into this too much. Or maybe he just likes living as an ASOIAF fan too and doesn't consider himself the actual author of the series...
Anyway, to sum up my point is still that imho ASOIAF comics would have HUGE potential. But if you rush into it with a crappy publisher + rather weak artistic team (a biased opinion, i know), it won't live up to its potential, which is rather sad.
