Actually I will be there. My family and I have been to this most years and I enjoy the weekend. It is dependant on the weather mind you.
I am going to be there in a semi official capacity firstly promoting UK Games Expo ( Uk Games Expo 2011 - Home Page which I am one of the organisers of. We are doing a tabletop wargame based around the breaking of the fellowship.
I am also there with a small stand for Mercia Books (my indiepublisher via which I published The Amber TReasure, Tomorrow's Guardian).

But its a good weekend to attend. There is a decent fair, dramatic recreations of bits of the Hobbit or LOTRO and the chance to visit "The Old Forest" and the Watermill at Bywater aka Moseley bog and Sareholemill. Good food on the roast pig stand and elsewhere.

Hopefully this will be my first time. You do have to dress up, right? I don't want to stand out like a two-headed llama.

well there are plenty of medieval reenactors as well as the Tolkien recreators in costume.
BUt the general public are usually in civvies.

This year is my first visit and I will be dressing up. Please everyone try to do same as it will be more fun for all. It creates a better atmosphere.
