Solaris Rising?

Yes, FE, on nearly all counts! :)

As you doubtless know, the Solaris Book of New SF series ran for 3 years under the stewardship of George Mann. However, when Games Workshop sold the Solaris imprint in 2009, George stayed on with the parent company, as head of Black Library Books.

Towards the end of last year, Solaris' new owners, Rebellion, approached me with the idea of reviving the series, though under the cunningly rejigged title of The New Solaris Book of SF. I've been quietly commissioning pieces for this over the past few months... in between doing everything else. I've accepted five stories to date, with several others currently under consideration.

Great, I look forward to it immensely.

You are a busy man, how do you find the time?

Sleep...? What's sleep?

I work from home, FE, usually starting anywhere between 6.00 and 7.30 am, and finishing at 6.00 to 6.30 pm... (less at weekends). It means I can pack a lot in, though that still doesn't stop deadlines looming large and mad panics as I try to hit them.

Sorry - only just caught up with this, courtesy of Stephen Palmer's blog entry about it (thanks, Stephen!). Looks like a great anthology. I really enjoyed all three of the Solaris SF anthologies edited by George Mann, and I always enjoy the anthologies that Ian puts together, so will wait for this one with eager anticipation...

Roll on November! :)
