It's part three of the list of Honourable Mentions to be included in this year's Best Horror Of The Year collection, edited by Ellen Datlow. My story, Come Tomorrow, is among the mentions.

It's an incredible thrill to be on the same list as writers like Kiernan, Oates, Pugmire, Pulver,Tambour, VanderMeer, Yolen and pretty much everyone else whose name my pride swelled up a little too much for me to notice just this moment.

An honor to be sure and congratulations. What impresses me even more, though, is getting one's stories published in the first place. Having your work see print professionally is a great ecstasy not everyone will experience, a hard reality I've come to accept. Even those talented enough to publish who I find particularly loathsome on a personal level (you're not one!) deserve my sincere and profound respect. How they receive such a trophy is beyond my ability to speculate but they've earned it and I offer it unbegrudgingly. Any chance the winds of success will blow a short story collection our way sometime soon?

Good story, J. I'm a big fan of the tale-within-a-tale motif. Its an ever-rarer beast these days, at least as far as I've read.
