I am searching for a pair of books that would have been on UK library bookshelves in the late 80s, early 90s.
The books were in the science fiction genre (I'm fairly certain there was a spaceship involved), had a female heroine - and a semi-tropical voodoo/tarot feel. I remember the intrusive use of a strange language - perhaps a simulated computer code - that was written in capital letters.
I have searched for books that have "aces" in the title, and found the Wild Card series, but this is a dead end for me.
I've spent more hours than is sensible trying to find these books (which I returned to the library without finishing) so if anyone has any suggestions of titles / authors that would be wonderful.
