So we know the last word in ADWD starts with the letter 'D', based on this video by his editor. Let's have a little fun with another guessing game shall we? :)

(I know there have been a few guesses in another thread, but thought it would be fun to start one dedicated to this topic.)

What do you think it will be?

Snow.

In a more general sense I think the epilogue chapter will be a Mellisandre POV, with The Wall crumbled around her, she'll be wondering how she could have been so wrong...

All right, I didn't watch the video. "dragon" seems as good a guess as any. I stand by my prediction as to the context though.

I quit the vid as soon as I realised she was reading segments of it. Okay, it may not reveal much, but come on, I'd rather read the book!

I'll fly in the face of the D-word and propose the last words might be Winter has come. :)

PS: Well met Lady of Winterfell!

I'm going with 'died'. But it better not be Jaime or there's going to be trouble!

2nd choice is 'Daenerys'.

@No One I don't like spoilers either, but she literally reads two or three sentences, each from separate parts of the book, so it really doesn't give anything away. But she definitely says the last word of the book starts with a D!

Okay really had to work on this to get the last word a D but here goes!

"All kneel for The Stormborn of House Targaryen, the Unburnt, Queen of the Seven Kingdoms, Queen of the Andals, the Rhoynar, and the First Men, Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea, Breaker of Shackles, and Mother of Dragons ; Daenerys.

Sounds better like this:

"All kneel for Daenerys Stormborn of House Targaryen, the Unburnt, Queen of the Seven Kingdoms, Queen of the Andals, the Rhoynar, and the First Men, Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea, Breaker of Shackles, and Mother of Dragons."

Again, DRAGONS! :p

Doughnut?

I haven't watched the video but given the Book title and presumalby the fact she finds the last word to be significant, I'd say Drogons is a fair bet.

As an oustider, howsabout Drogoooooo.

How about 'Dorne'?

As in, 'Daenerys at last beheld the Seven Kingdoms: the ground beneath her feet was the sandy surface of Dorne'.

Thanks Delran, your right that's better!:D

Although I still like Delran's version of mine, now I must root for either Dorne or Dracarys!

Dragons is just too easy.

Dragons does seem easy and obvious, but I wouldn't rule it out. How about:

The small folk working the land outside Kings Landing were the first to notice the large, swooping shapes in the sky. They paused in their toil, squinting in the sun, disbelief on their faces. One by one they took up the cry. "The dragons have returned! DRAGONS!"

Yeah, I'm gonna say it's just some innocent word that isn't very profound or important at all. Like "day".

My guess is "day".

...his name was - Django.

Or wait that would be too Tarantino...
