Yeah, I found it quite interesting, especially the parts about authors being men of their time and how (this is implied rather than actually said) it's played a role in shifting morality from the absolute good and evil of Tolkien to a more nuanced morality in stuff by George RR Martin (and Joe Abercrombie too).

On an unrelated note, why does Sean Bean seem to get killed off in almost every role he plays? Janus in Goldeneye, Boromir in LotR etc?
I did as well. I knew he wasn't going to call himself an 'architect' but IMO he seems to be somewhere in between the two, just using his definitions and what we know of his writing.
