Joe Abercrombie interviews George R.R. Martin on-camera. Part 1 and Part 2. Grab 'em before Sky gets them taken down :-D

Excellent interview. Very interesting. Not the usual "buy my book" crap.

Yeah, I found it quite interesting, especially the parts about authors being men of their time and how (this is implied rather than actually said) it's played a role in shifting morality from the absolute good and evil of Tolkien to a more nuanced morality in stuff by George RR Martin (and Joe Abercrombie too).

I hope Mr. Abercrombie gets a First Law TV series :D

Big spoiler for Game of Thrones below.

On an unrelated note, why does Sean Bean seem to get killed off in almost every role he plays? Janus in Goldeneye, Boromir in LotR etc?

Not in Sharpe though! (unless there's one I haven't seen, in which case DON'T TELL ME!)

Anyway, it's because he's just a very kill-able kind of guy :D. You just can't help but want to wipe that stupid look off his face.

Sean Bean--great voice, cool accent, nice looking:D

Enjoyed the interview. I'm glad Wert posted it.

Great interview. Like the bit about architects versus gardeners.

I did as well. I knew he wasn't going to call himself an 'architect' but IMO he seems to be somewhere in between the two, just using his definitions and what we know of his writing.
