Almost 50 years ago I read a book and would love to reread it now.
All I can remember about it is that it took place in the very near future after the discovery that there had been an advanced interplanetary human civilization on Venus, Earth, Mars, and a planet between Mars and Jupiter.
As the story continued, it became clear that an alien enemy destroyed this early civilization by exploding the planet between Mars and Jupiter, thinning the atmosphere of Mars, clouding the atmosphere of Venus, and causing the Earth to enter an ice age.
Only humans on Earth survived, but the human race was thrown back to a primitive state.
That's not much to go on, but does anyone remember the title of this book?
