This might be in the wrong section, so feel free to move it.

I am driving alot because of work (2-3 hours worth, a day) and have been listening to a audio book that I have just finished. I don't want to continue the series because of my disappointment. I go to work tommarow and am having a hard time thinking of a new Audio book to download.

I am looking for a stand alone book but that maybe fits more into The Hobbit. Really can be anything as I will look them up, but I would like something around the likes of Starship Troopers, The Hobbit and maybe His dark materials(if it was a stand alone).

Thanks for the help! I have 5 hours before bed, so Ill be researching most of the time.

It's a series , but is a complete story in itself.

The BBC Radio series - just like their version of The Hobbit - is a different take , like the books turned into plays , and well worth listening to.

The best version of all IMO. Much better than the film and the TV version.

No, that's a trilogy: Northern Lights published in North America as The Golden Compass, The Subtle Knife and The Amber Spyglass.

I understand, I finished reading the trilogy this year. I was just referring to the type of novel as a reference to what I want, but in a single novel instead of 3.

Hitchhikers Guide makes for great listening.
One that surprised me, in audio format, was Jurassic Park.

I was thinking about that actually. How much is it like the movie?
