Falling Skies - Season Four

Great show, very good characterisation and they can push the tension pretty high. Has season 4 been released yet?

I think it is May or June. To tell you the truth, I remember a big cliffhanger, but it's been so long that I can't remember anything about why that was!

Tom's daughter, who has undergone an extreme growth spurt, also appears to have developed 'powers'.

Remember Falling Skies? It's coming back, in a couple months. And this time around, the Second Mass is even more bedraggled than ever, judging from this promo. Also, Tom and Anne's half-alien daughter is apparently already fully grown, and still creepy.

I love this show, & though I do not know why it runs during Summer, I am glad about it, because I save this, THE WALKING DEAD, & AMERICAN HORROR STORY on my DVR until my brother comes to visit & watch with me. I would not have room for much of anything else if this ran during the standard season.

I believe it starts 22nd June. Yes, it is strange that it runs during the Summer but good because nothing else is on then.

Quite an interesting new status quo to start season 4. The flying skitters look pretty cool. I was surprised by the 4 month time jump and now I find it hard to trust anyone. I get the feeling that a major betrayal is in the works.

After watching first three episodes I can say I feel a bit confused. I cannot clearly remember as what happened at the end of the last season, but as they kicked out the last headman the new one has brought in different ones, and the series is heading to another direction. What it is I cannot say at the moment. I don't think anyone but the crew has a clue, but my guts are telling that the series is heading to larger confrontation with a possibility of third alien race appearing on the skies of Earth.

What I'm wondering at the moment is where the hell they are getting all ammunition? And why the the bomb didn't blew off?

I got a kick out of the Led Zeppelin discussion at the beginning of the episode.

It's like the writers/producers thought the story was becoming too linear at the end of last season. So now we have more confusing scenarios with no clear path to a resolution. Maybe that's good. It'll keep me interested. But the Hitler Youth sub set is just annoying. And Lexi and Lourdes are starting to tick me off also. I think Pope is becoming my favorite character because he doesn't have faith in anyone or anything.

I had a feeling Lexi's sanctuary was part of an Espheni trap. I wasn't expecting Mira Sorvino to show up this season. So the mutant Jeanne could turn invisible? I wonder why she attacked Cochise though.

Just watched half of the first episode of the new season only, but I'm lost and confused. I'll watch the rest later but no explanation of why the Volm disappeared and yet another big jump in time to fill in. Is the sanctuary a trap - most likely, they usually are - so why does no one else see that? A baby that grows to adulthood in a matter of months is not human. However, it seems to me that the human race is now irrevocably changed in any case. Things will never return to how they were before, so just embrace it, try to make peace with these aliens (too many aliens!) and share the planet.

Keep watching Cochise explains why the other Volm left.

Things will never return to how they were before, so just embrace it, try to make peace with these aliens (too many aliens!) and share the planet.

I could say that after any war the peace must be fought and the two sides must forgive the atrocities committed during battle. And how that may take time.

However, what I really meant was that those harnesses didn't sound that bad - superhuman strength, health and endurance, combined with the ability to communicate telepathically - without the mind control part.

Unfortunately, that is not the plan. The conquest of Earth is not as important as our DNA and fighting ability as soldiers. It seems that the plan is a to convert us, like Jennie, into human/skitter hybrid/monster foot soldiers to fight some huge intergalactic war whose corner has just touched the Earth.

Obviously, I can't see any people voting for that. I expect they will fight until the last man standing.

The series has just been renewed for its 5th and final season. So the story will have an ending of sorts.

Re: the Great Reveal in the final seconds - But surely we all knew that 2 episodes ago? It was hardly a surprise!

What was odd was the Stigmata. There can be no scientifically plausible explanation for that. Or can there?

I thought it was because of the harness linking him to the alien as a surrogate. Or am I missing your meaning?

First off, clearly I'm not an expert on how an alien harness might work.
I can see the transference of pain by firing up the neurons, but I just thought the body sores, bruising, wounds and cuts to be unlikely. The metal spikes and flashing lights give the impression of an electrical connection, and that would fit some kind of radio communication with the host and stimulating neurons. The actual real physical damage that occurred implies something more supernatural that you would expect Mulder and Scully to investigate. As usual, I'm prone to over-analysis of a fiction. It was there to increase the tension. Having Ben rive around on the floor without any physical injuries wouldn't have been the same.

The special effects artists did a great job on the cocoon that Lexi was in. Kind of weird to see that Hershey's Kisses survived the apocalypse. I find Lourdes really annoying at this point. I keep hoping they kill her off but I have a feeling she'll be around until the series finale.
