I am trying to remember the name of a British children's fantasy author from the 1960's / 70's.
I think it was a woman who used a gender ambigious name or initials. The stories were slightly along the lines of Alan Garner in style. One was about selkies, another was about the London Temple of Mithras.
I would love to find the books again but as I can't remember name or titles, it is difficult!
Can anyone help?
Thank you.

Susan Cooper wrote a book "Seaward" about Selkies.

There are other suggestions here in the Wikipedia article on Irish mythology in popular culture: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Irish_mythology_in_popular_culture#Selkie

Thanks for the reply. It wasn't Susan Cooper although that is very much the type of author I am thinking of. Still hoping someone will jog my memory....

OK, sorry to be stupid - what wiki listing? I am trying to find it...

You could try pasting the Wikipedia URL I supplied into your browser.... (this site wouldn't let me create it as a link)

Thanks for the response. No, none of the lists I have found on Wikipedia have helped me.
