30th Anniversary Weekend
Saturday 22nd October 2011
Barceló Hotel, Oxford
With special guests Gareth Thomas and Paul Darrow
(Please note both guests appear subject to their work commitments)
What time does the event start?
10am, however you will need to be at the venue by 9.30am latest to ensure you get registered before the event starts - note late arrivals will be dosed with Pylene 50 and teased mercilessly by the Dark Lord!! If you live a long way from Oxford there are plenty of B&B's in the area where you could stay the night before, but this is entirely at your discretion and cannot be organised by the event committee.
Where is it happening?
The Barceló Hotel, Oxford.
Website: www .barcelo-hotels.co.uk/hotels/central-england/barcelo-oxford-hotel
Includes plenty of information about the venue plus directions etc. The hotel is located on the north side of Oxford, just off the A40. For anyone coming by train, the rail station is only about 3 miles away and there are plenty of buses that serve the area, plus the usual taxis. Just ask if you're unsure about how to get there.
Is this a big event taking place over a whole weekend?
No - this is a one day event, taking place on a Saturday, with the option of something happening on the Sunday morning, at the moment a visit to Pyrton Village hall and Residence One near Charlbury are on the table, but that's still TBC. The event is deliberately being kept small to hopefully maintain a more personal/social atmosphere. We want you all to chat and mingle amongst friends and maybe make some new ones too, rather than a huge crowd where much of that is lost.
What B7 actors/other guests are coming?
We have just two confirmed guests, Gareth Thomas and Paul Darrow (Do remember that they appear subject to work commitments, therefore we ask that you please be understanding if they have to cancel at the last minute - every effort will be made however to find replacement guests if this occurs, but again cannot be guaranteed).
Can I bring models/artwork?
Yes, by all means - but please remember this will be entirely at your own risk and YOU must be responsible for the safety of the items concerned. We will be obtaining some event insurance, but private property cannot be covered (for obvious reasons I'm sure you'll appreciate). If you're really worried about this, please get in touch via the means provided below. We invite anyone wishing to bring something along to mention it when you make your booking so that it can be discussed in more detail, thank you.
Can I bring my children?
Yes, but please be aware that they may get a little bored, very young children especially. Unfortunately we can't provide them with Alton Towers! Also the family rooms may be rather overcrowded with older kids.
What is the programme of activities for the day?
This is still being finalised, but suffice it to say there will be plenty of opportunity for people to obtain autographs and photos with the guests, plus enjoy their other entertaining talents.
Will there be a website dedicated to this event?
No, it's not big enough to warrant it, any further information will be posted in the event threads on Horizon, PDS and Louise & Simon's forum. Nor will there be event T shirts and the like. It is hoped to have a table for Horizon merchandise, but this has yet to be confirmed.
How do I contact the event organisers?
A special email address has been set up specifically for this event where you should send your enquiries and booking messages: B7anniv2011 AT hotmail.co.uk
What the ticket price includes:
A share of the guest costs
Access to the event
Unlimited refreshments during the day (tea/coffee/water etc)
Lunch
Free autographs (limit of 2 items per person - to avoid queues)
Plus, for those who take these options:
Evening drinks reception & Gala Dinner
Accommodation & breakfast Sunday morning
Chat with the guests Sunday morning
*Optional visit to Pyrton Hall - this is open to everyone regardless of whether or not you stay over.
For anyone who prefers not to stay overnight, this is entirely your choice, but please note that you will likely miss some things that I've mentioned above.
Also the hotel bar only accepts cash until 11pm, after which you have to provide a room number - if you want to stay later you'd have to 'buddy' up with someone who is staying and pay them for your share of the drinks bill.

Event only - £100 (please note if you book this option the daytime activities will finish around 5.30pm and you will NOT be able to join the drinks reception)
