Captain America: The First Avenger (2011)

Yeah I saw it on the weekend. Was pretty good, probably my #2 Marvel movie after Iron Man.

The Star Spangled Man song is irritatingly catchy.

I haven't seen it yet, but i want too. The missus doesn't fancy it though. I might have to get the rohypnol out. :)

You could always, shock horror, go on your own. I see 90% of the films I watch at the cinema without Mrs P'T.

As for the movie, it was pretty good but personally I wouldn't really go so far as awesome. Maybe it rates more in the USA for the flag-waving. I know it's comic based, but that two of the key ingredients were clearly un-real made a bit of a dent for me, compared to Batman or, even, Superman (since aliens can have any power they like ;) ).

I saw this last night and thought it was awesome, great action scenes. Chris Evans captured the heroic side and the human side of Rogers. Great visuals too, 3D version was not only a gimmick.

The only bad thing was that i have been reading the comic for the last 5,6 years. The film creators was too loyal to Brubaker run and used his version of the origin. Not a scene in whole film was not different from comic version. It was lacking supense for me in that way.

I just booked tickets to see Captain America on Saturday night so this positive feedback is very welcome.

My niece and I are going together. We saw Thor and enjoyed it very much, so now watching superhero movies is part of our aunty/niece time. :)

I was pleasantly surprised by how well this turned out. The story was there and it unfolded pretty well (with a few quick action scenes to jump-start slow parts) and Chris Evans did much better than I expected. A helluva lot better than Ryan Reynolds in the Green Lantern. I was excited to at being able to watch a short trailer for The Avengers after the credits were done rolling.

All in all, i'd give Captain America a 9/10.

Saw it and loved it. My niece and I are in agreement that Captain America is an excellent film in its genre.

Chris Evans was a good choice. I'm not familiar with his body of work but what I saw in this movie impressed me.

I got to see this movie on DVD last week. Its OK, some amusing bits, kinda a guy movie - LOL
