Is anyone else upset with the way Roy read this book? He used Asha Greyjoy voice for Dany (which drove me crazy), gave Melisandre a totally different voice, as he did with other characters- Strong Belwas for one.I wish someone involved in the production had had enough sense to correct him early on. it didn't ruin the book for me, but the Dany chapters in particular were tough to listen to.

A hundred times yes! I think it was particularly jarring because I finished relistening to the series on July 11, but I was really annoyed that the Dany and Mel voices were completely different. I was really surprised.

Yeah I thought I noticed him mixing voices in the same chapter. But he's still the best. Only listed to half (was taking too long).

Even in my half there were some weird mistakes.

Some of the choices were just wrong. Didn't like his idea of BFS and the Dorn guard.

OMG! Imp you hit the nail right on the head with Dany! This really had me scratching my head as to why he used that voice for Dany. It was so bad that each time that i came back to a Dany chapter, i would stop listening to the audio-book and switch to the physical book. Other than that, Roy Detrice was his usual self in regards to bringing the characters to life.

He did such a good job with her before i thought it was a no brainer to have the same voice. The first time i heard the new voice i had to start over because i thought one of her hand maids was talking.
